Have you been wondering how you could spruce up your hair routine and have even healthier hair than the year before?

Well, look no further because here are fifteen amazing and simple tips that your hair will appreciate!

Now that we’ve identified our goals, let’s get started!


1. Show your scalp some love!

The health of the scalp is the foundation to healthy hair. It doesn’t take much more than 10 to 15 minutes daily to improve scalp health.  In fact, it’s just about massaging your scalp to encourage blood flow and choosing the right products/ serums. It’s a good idea to first apply aloe Vera gel directly on your scalp for its gentle and strong antimicrobial / healing properties. We highly recommend our scalp conditioner that contains aloe because it has been proven with experience to work wonders on hair rejuvenation.


2.Give your hair follicles some encouragement!

​Sometimes everyone and everything needs a bit of encouragement to get things going in the right direction. The same goes for your hair follicles, who go through different growing phases and work really hard to push through the thick layer of the skin called the dermis to the surface (epidermis) so that you can have that gorgeous full head of hair! It all comes down to the health of the follicles. They need a healthy work environment to get growing. There are factors that affect the health of your hair you can’t control. However, there are still some things you can do to greatly improve its current state regardless. First, cut back on extra chemicals you may be putting on your scalp or ingesting like artificial dyes. Then take matters into your own hands and use products that help instead of harm like our liquid shampoo and shampoo bar.

 3.De-tangle and shine your hair without too much effort!

We know you’re reading this and asking yourself how but it’s possible. The first step is to take a deep breath and don’t rush through taking care of your hair even if you are in a hurry. If your hair is super tangled or has lots of product build up, then this tip will save you lots of time and conditioner. After you shampoo your hair ( we assume with our special liquid shampoo or bar) and rinse you may want to do this deep conditioning treatment by mixing a cup of warm water, apple cider vinegar, a tablespoon of baking soda, and a few drops of our rise and shine hair oil and apply to your hair for 10 to 15 minutes, covered with a shower cap. Once you rinse it out, your hair will feel super de-tangled and ready for the last step, the Hair dessert leave in conditioner, which locks in moisture and shines hair all day long.


4. Eliminate dandruff from your hair and heal underlying skin issues.

​If you follow the tips 1 ,3, and tip 5 on this list, those pesky flakes of dandruff will leave as well. This is because dandruff cannot occur on a healthy scalp that has no product build up. In severe cases of dandruff, it will take a little while longer before you see improvement. The main ingredient of curing dandruff is consistency- once it’s gone it won’t come back. 5. Nurture your hair inside out!

We have been told that all real and beautiful transformations start from within, and despite how cliché it sounds it is true! If you want healthy full hair that you can be proud to show off to the world, then there’s a few changes you’ll have to be willing to do. It starts with your lifestyle. Evaluate how you’ve been eating, sleeping, supplements you haven’t been taking and work on these areas. Studies have shown that a balanced diet and stable sleep pattern can dramatically improve your overall health.

6.Minimize and eliminate hair breakage/fallout.

Don’t stay there watching each day helplessly as your hair falls out, wondering how you can stop it from happening and reminiscing on the times when you had hair. Instead, take action by doing something about it or do something different! There are many things you are possibly doing to make the condition worse. Whatever the case may be, find a way to relieve stress like exercise or yoga, reducing high heat on hair strands, combing gently, take it easy on by using low tension protective styles. When in doubt about the cause, try tip #1 again first.

7. Reduce friction and pressure on your hair strands.

The main reason why your hair could be experiencing split ends and breakage is because of the way that you are drying your hair. Do you vigorously wipe your hair dry with your towel or apply too much pressure by combing through dry hair? These two mistakes are very common causes of damaged hair. Unfortunately, once the damage is done it can't be repaired - at least not right away. The best thing to do is stop doing these things altogether and wait until your hair recovers in length enough for you to trim the damaged parts ( if a buzz cut isn't an option). Meanwhile, take care of your scalp, and nurture your hair inside out.

8.Protect your hair from the harsh elements.

The best thing you can do for your hair is protect it from extreme heat and cold. If you moisturize your skin daily, it will be less prone to dryness. This is true especially that of a curly type which suffers from breakage when it is too dry due to being exposed to harshness of the elements. Remember, properly moisturized hair has a balanced ratio of water (which provides moisture) and oil (which seals the moisture in). Applying a comfortable amount of steam also helps hair absorb moisture much better.

9. Exercise and stretch often.

Those who do some form of exercise daily reap unlimited benefits for their overall health and appearance. The physical movement enables your organs to flush out toxins from your skin’s pores, glands, and improves circulation, clearing of the skin and complexion. Stretching by touching one’s toes can benefit hair growth by enabling blood flow and circulation to the scalp, and doing so 10 to 15 minutes daily boosts the health of your hair.

10. Research before you apply!

Always, ​always​ take the time to read the label and research what the ingredients are and if they are good to use long term! Health is also influenced by what you put on, not just inside of your body. There is a high chance that if you can’t pronounce or identify a good amount of ingredients in a product, then it may not be the healthiest choice for your hair and skin needs.

11. Stay clear of products that are unkind to your hair.

It may seem like a no- brainer, but sometimes the hair products we’ve been using don’t quite agree with us the way that they should. The signs that it’s time to go for something different, and something better is when we notice extra sensitivity on our scalp, irritation , and our hair feels weighed down by product. The best products are often the ones you don’t need a whole lot of to get the result you desire, and just simply feel right for you.


12. Boost your natural collagen and keratin levels with each meal.

The two substances collagen and keratin are both naturally occurring proteins that are responsible for hair and skin growth, repair, and durability. These proteins decline with time, which is why hair often thins out and skin loses its youthful bounce. However, you can stop this downward spiral and retain youthful hair and skin by being mindful to eat healthy foods daily that have natural keratin, biotin, and collagen.


13. Be proactive and aware of how you care for your hair!

It’s easy sometimes to forego taking care of your hair the way

that one should sometimes, but don’t let it become a habit. If there are one or two things you can do for your hair every single day to keep it looking its best, then stay motivated and do those things!

Most of the time, we tend to give up when we don’t see results right away. The last word of advice on the list but certainly not the least is to use mostly natural hair and skin products. We touched on this subject throughout our countdown especially in #10 and #11, but we cannot stress it enough ! It is very important to go with hair and skin products that we can trust with our health. Hair and body care plays such an important role in our daily lives, and what we put on our skin can affect us long term.
